Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Oncology as a part time Clinical Research Fellow (1 hour per week)
You will play an important role in undertaking original research through the complex analysis of data from the anonymised QResearch database and NHS England Systemic Anti-Cancer therapy (SACT) which have already been linked by the QResearch team, and health databases linked to hospital, mortality and cancer registry data and similar databases.
You will lead on the preparation of manuscripts for publication and the drafting of reports to funding bodies. The post would be ideally suited to someone proactive and ambitious who is planning an academic career in data science or epidemiology.
You will deliver multiple research projects in collaboration with both junior and senior researchers. This will be usually be achieved through the analysis of routinely collected electronic health records from the SACT and QResearch electronic health databases which have already been linked by the QResearch team and linked to hospital, mortality and cancer registry data and similar databases.
Act as a source of information and advice to other members of the collaborative research group and users of the QResearch and SACT Databases on methodologies or procedures
This is a fixed term contract until 1st October 2026, working 1 hour per week.
