Part time Farm Work

Part time Farm Work for a small farm on the edge of the Lake District

The position is part time 20 hours a week , salary is £18,000 p.a. + 5% pension and 14 days annual leave (i.e. a pro-rata salary from a notional £36,000 p.a + 28 days if full time). It may be possible to increase the hours to full time by including non agricultural work for the right candidate.

The twenty hours per week is roughly evenly split between
- establishing crops and cover crops
- monitoring the crops and soil
- managing environmental schemes
- harvest
- building and estate maintenance
- drainage maintenance
- machinery maintenance

You will need to work safely and create a safe working environment and follow all current regulations. Able to follow instructions and also take initiative and plan your own work.

The working hours are flexible except at harvest and sowing times. Accommodation at a fair rent can be available on site if needed.
