Full Job Description

Are you an experienced and passionate SENCo looking to lead SEND provision in a high-achieving SEN school? Our outstanding SEN school in Islington is seeking a dedicated SENCo to champion inclusive education and ensure the best outcomes for all students. Role Overview: As the SENCo, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing SEND strategies, supporting staff, and ensuring the provision meets individual student needs. You will play a key role in maintaining our inclusive ethos and high standards.,

  • Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school.
  • Oversee the implementation and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Support and guide teachers and support staff in delivering inclusive learning.
  • Liaise with external professionals, including educational psychologists and therapists, to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEND, ensuring tailored interventions are in place.
  • Engage with parents and carers to build strong partnerships that support student development.
  • Deliver training and professional development for staff around SEND best practices.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National SENCo Award (or working towards).
  • Experience as a SENCo or in leading SEND provision.
  • Excellent understanding of SEND frameworks and EHCP processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for inclusive education and ensuring every child thrives.
