Full Job Description
Supporting the consistent implementation of the Behaviour for Learning policy
Managing the calm and purposeful movement of students around the Academy, including entry and exit
Being part of the safeguarding team
Working with the other pastoral leaders as a team to ensure students are monitored and supervised before school, during break and throughout lunch
Running and supporting in detentions
Following through any issues to do with behaviour
Mentoring students on PSPs, including supporting in lessons as appropriate
Attending CP/CHIN meetings and update records accordingly.
Organising and running behaviour interventions
Supporting with compiling files required for disciplinary panels or exclusion hearings
Ensuring that all issues that relate to student safety such as allegations of bullying are escalated in a timely manner
Liaising with the local community, including the Police, including dealing with incidents received by the Academy
Supervising lessons for absent teachers, allocating explaining and overseeing work set
Qualifications & ExperienceWe would like to hear from you if you have
Qualifications to A Level standard or equivalent
Knowledge of appropriate strategies to recognise and reward efforts and achievements
Basic knowledge of SEN and other learning barriers
Strong organisational and time management skills
Relevant experience in successfully supervising groups of children aged 11-16
Previous experience in a school or comparable large organisation
Understanding of a secondary school environment
The ability to provide classroom cover - within agreed parameters - in the absence of the class teacher
The ability to consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management strategies
Awareness of safeguarding systems and issues which might arise
