Full Job Description
The Governing Body wish to appoint a highly motivated and committed Pastoral Mentor, with the vision and dedication to promote safeguarding, leading to positive outcomes for children across our school.
This role will include being a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead reporting to one of our DSLs. The successful candidate will have a high level of involvement representing our school, including our school based nursery and off-site nursery, in the 'Child Protection arena', and will work with various stakeholders to ensure the needs of our children are being met.
As a member of the school leadership team, we are looking for an excellent Pastoral Mentor who:
- Will maintain the high standards of pastoral care that we pride ourselves on;
- Is approachable and can listen without judgement, whilst maintaining a professional curiosity;
- Is able to work closely with children, their families, school staff and other professionals to identify and address barriers to learning, behaviour and attendance;
- Can strategically monitor, analyse, report on and ultimately improve attendance;
- Shows commitment to the development of supportive relationships between home, school and outside agencies and is an effective communicator with all members of the school community;
- Is able to support the Senior/School Leadership Team and Inclusion Leader in providing pastoral care and support to children for their mental and physical welfare, encouraging positive attitudes and behaviour;
- Has high expectations of pupil achievement and pupil behaviour;
- Will be a pro-active member of our school team and contribute to the school's Christian Values and nurturing ethos.

Salary: Grade 7, £26,608 - £29,813 per annum.
In return, we offer you:
37 hours per week, term time plus two weeks working 40 weeks per year
