Full Job Description

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will track and monitor the progress of a specific amount of our Further Education learners. This will include conducting 1:1 meetings with learners, delivering College group tutorial programmes, liaising with members of staff and parents/guardians regarding learner progress and signposting learners to wider support as and when needed. You will also be a part of the College Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of students.

Do you have a strong desire to see students succeed? If so, we want to hear from you!, We'd like our Pastoral Tutor to have experience of delivering student workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students and of supporting student progress on a 1:1 basis. We'd like you to have some experience of youth and community work and have a clear understanding of the needs of students and how these may be met.

You'll be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills. You'll be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with people and work well as part of a high performing team. A Level 3 qualification in Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care would put you at an advantage, but it's important to know that this is by no means essential. Experience of careers advice and guidance is also desirable.
