Full Job Description

The purpose of the role is to deliver the overall management and responsibility for the pastry section of the town hall kitchen, ensuring the production of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods for both the restaurant and our functions and events programme. The role will be required to develop a range of innovative and delicious recipes which complement the wider food and beverage offer, attract new and returning customers with seasonal flavours and contribute to the development of menus and sourcing of local suppliers

We are looking for a Pastry Chef of excellence and experience to join the Town Hall's growing kitchen team. You will be a good team player, be able to work under pressure and have the ability to produce pastry exceptional of quality for which The Martlet Kitchen will be known. We are looking for a passionate, experienced Pastry Chef to join our busy kitchen team. As a chef you will be designing, creating and delivering exceptional pastry menus for both The Martlet Kitchen and a range of income generating events including large weddings and charity galas.

Rochdale Town Hall re-opened to the public in March 2024 and since that time has welcomed over 60,000 visitors from all over the world. Rochdale Town Hall's on-site restaurant - The Martlet Kitchen - opened in September 2024 and has already received rave reviews and made it into the UK's Good Food Guide.
