Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pathology IT Manager, with good interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to team working to join the Pathology service, across both the Chelsea and Sutton sites.
The major focus of the role will be the implementation of the Digital strategy within the overall Pathology service area, acting as a subject matter expert in complex programmes delivering digital-enabled transformation. These include providing support for the implementation of digital pathology as part of our histopathology modernization programme and for the digital element of new service delivery and digital infrastructure within our cutting edge Clinical Genomics laboratories.
Completion of full integration of the service following the recent Epic LIMS/EPR implementation is another key focus.
The post holder will be responsible for managing Pathology IT services and a team of 4 staff including a deputy and three system administrators.
Applicants must have a relevant higher degree or equivalent, HCPC registration, evidence of post-registration study and management skills training. This is a full time post.

The role will provide advice to executive bodies, the service and wider Trust groups on Pathology IT issues and future strategies based on changing technologies and legislation or guidelines; ensuring that digital solutions continue to meet user and stakeholder needs, ensuring minimal clinical risk to patients and financial risk to the service.
The post holder will be responsible for Pathology IT service delivery as directed by the Trust's Pathology Management team, ensuring the smooth, safe, and reliable operation of all IT systems used by the Pathology service across all sites on a 24 x 7 basis and keeping users and managers aware of any issues.
The role will be responsible for Quality and Governance of IT systems within the service, ensuring provision of training for service staff in the use of IT systems and documentation.
The post holder will also be responsible for the line management of the Pathology IT Team, managing a team of 4 technical staff, + To build and manage a robust service model according to best practice principles (e.g. ITIL v4.0), offering responsive first and second-line support to pathology service users.
+ To manage and oversee the day to day running of pathology IT solutions, ensuring support processes are in place and system outputs satisfy the needs of the users.
+ To have an in-depth knowledge of the LIMS solutions in use across the Trust and externally, and how each interacts, including effective incident and change management.
+ To lead on service reviews with suppliers to ensure effective performance management of the overall Pathology IT service.
+ To monitor the service received from internal service providers (e.g. Digital Services) and system suppliers and escalate any significant concerns as appropriate.
