Full Job Description

The Quality Manager is a key member of the team charged with the design and implementation of the Laboratory's Quality Management System. They manage the system and ensure that the departmental quality management processes are streamlined and consistent. The objective being that the Laboratory becomes progressively more effective in quality terms and meets both regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Quality Manager has the skills and ability to promote quality within all areas of the Laboratory. They ensure that modern methods of Quality Management and process control are central to the effective running of Pathology services and that the vital linkages to clinical governance and risk management are made within those services. Budget holder for the main Pathology budget. Occasional visits to the Halton site are required for auditing and compliance purposes., To implement and maintain the Quality Management System for Warrington and Halton Pathology Laboratories.
To lead and inform the staff within all of the Pathology disciplines about Quality and Regulatory aspects required to be accredited to the standards of our regulatory bodies.
To lead on Clinical Governance and co-ordinate the response for any matters falling within the remit of the laboratory.
