Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Maternity Admin Team as the Patient Access Team Leader.

Working primarily to support and manage the administrative Team responsible for the booking of Midwifery, Ultrasound, & Obstetric appointments including patients under the care of our Fetal & Maternal Medicine Unit which cares for patients with high risk pregnancies.

The post holder is also responsible for ensuring that the strict timelines for appointments during pregnancy are met, working closely with midwives, sonographers & managers to meet those deadlines.

Maternity & in particular the Fetal & Maternal Medicine Unit, is a high demand, high risk service where understanding the complex pathways some patients are on is essential., Supporting the delivery of the daily operational business of Outpatient Administration & Medical Record Management The post holder will be key in offering a supporting role to both the Service Manager and Operational Services Manager. The post holder must be able to identify pressures and help make recommendations on corrective actions required.

The post holder will support the Service Manager to resolve day to day management issues, helping to ensure that a high quality patient experience is delivered. This will involve supporting the Service Manager to resolve operational issues ranging from basic administration problems to more complex issues requiring support and agreement from various teams.

Attention to detail, ability to absorb knowledge quickly & pass on that knowledge to the rest of the team effectively is an integral part of the role.
