Full Job Description

The post holder will work conjunctively within the Corporate Operational structure and have close working relationships with Patient Access, Medical Records and Divisional operational teams. The role will sit directly in the Patient Access Structure and the post holder will have a breath of knowledge and experience to support the operational teams with PAS changes and creations to assist the operation flow of work.

Create/amend/cancel/delete clinic templates as approved by the Clinic Mandate process following procedure

Create/ amend/ upload letter templates liaising with Divisional Management teams ensuring that NHS policies and guidance are adhered to.

Maintain PAS system/ information reference files e.g. OPCs codes, ICD10 codes, Consultants, GPs, Alternative numbers, Terminals, Risks, Validation codes.

Test new software releases in the relevant 'test' environment liaising with software supplier and IT Training as appropriate; reporting any errors to software suppliers prior to loading onto the 'live' environment.

Deal with complex telephone/email enquiries from users concerning Data Quality issues ensuring advice is given in a non technical language. Queries must be dealt with in a timely manner or escalated to the PAS & PAC Manager as appropriate.

Regularly undertake and ensure Data Quality audits are completed.

Ensure regular Duplicate Registration reports are produced, analysed and discussed with the Medical Records Manager to ensure case notes and ICS PAS are merged.

Ensure regular PAS missing data reports are produced and all missing data is updated on PAS in a timely manner.

Update patient PAS details and remove activity from the PAS for deceased patients; informing Medical Records of patients PAS number and adhering to the Notification of Death Procedure.

The post holder is required to have an in-depth knowledge of the PAS system functionality and have extensive knowledge and experience with operational procedures and protocols within the Trust. Able to work with the minimum of supervision in an organised, efficient and effective manner in order to maximise the effective use of both their own time and that of system users. It is essential that the post holder uses initiative compatible to the role and it is vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
