Full Job Description

We offer a two-week induction whereby you will have time with our team to gain a good understanding of how the practice operates. The main purpose of the role is to:

  • Offer general assistance to the practice team & project a positive & friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
  • Ensure that all our patients have access to a safe surgery environment.
  • Receive, assist, & direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, & effective way.
  • Monitor and maintain the reception waiting area ensuring patients are kept informed in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or updates to clinics.
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff & other members of the practice team.
  • Ensure accurate documentation within patient records via SystmOne.
  • Monitor and respond to online communications via our online system, Patchs.

    Good general secondary education.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent keyboard and computer skills.
  • Ability to listen and empathise.
  • Appropriate IT knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Negotiating skills and problem solving.
  • Good time management.
  • An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team.
  • Pleasant and articulate.

  • Experience of working in public reception environment.
  • Experience of using a clinical medical system, or similar.
  • Experience of dealing with the public/patients.
  • Experience of dealing with the public on the telephone.
  • Customer care training.
  • Experience of using SystmOne
  • Knowledge of primary care in the NHS.

    Marriott's Medical Practices have an exciting opportunity to grow our team of patient coordinators and to further develop our progressive team, on a fixed term maternity contract until August 2025, this may be extended. This will be on a part-time basis of 18 hours per week. After 6 months, the salary will increase to £12.00 per hour., About Us We have a friendly and supportive team who are passionate about providing top quality service to our 13,000 patients across the Bacon Road Medical Centre and Taverham Surgery.
