Full Job Description

You will provide and maintain efficient administrative and reception services for the Radiology Department, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to patients, staff and Consultants. You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients. You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Ensure all customers are dealt with in a professional manner and all queries are dealt with efficiently - over the telephone and email
  • Take bookings for Diagnostic Imaging examinations and give patients precise and accurate preparation instructions.
  • Take and give accurate information over the telephone and to have an efficient telephone manner.
  • Advise the Administration Lead of any problems within the department and to handle minor complaints with immediate action and a thorough follow up.
  • Ensure that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Check General area/CT / MRI charges for the previous day, adding issues on Compucare for inpatients.
  • Check bookings scheduled for following day and obtain request forms to ensure efficient patient journey.
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, liaising regularly with the Administration Manager to form a cohesive team, working together to provide an exemplary service.

  • Experience in Administration within a healthcare environment
  • Experience within radiology is desirable
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Articulate and Polite
  • Organisational skills - meeting deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Confident and can work under pressure
  • Natural ability to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care
