Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Cancer Patient Flow Administrator. This role will support the patient pathway management of nine internal cancer site-specific services. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and well organised individual to work as a patient flow administrator in a fast-paced environment within the lead Cancer Team. Dedicated to delivering work to the highest standards, you will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills. You will work both independently and as part of the lead Cancer Team, using your own initiative and judgement. The role is central to the flow of patients along their cancer journey across all cancer site-specific services, working in cohesion with the Cancer Waiting Times policy and National Waiting Times as set by NHS England. Part of this role will involve the use of the most up to date AI technology (Dr Doctor) which will assist in identifying potential DNA's and support with patient pathway efficiencies. You will also work with the Personalised Care Lead on our Prehabilitation Programme to ensure questionnaires are posted out to patients, completed and returned. This will involve contacting patients over the telephone., The post-holder will identify cancer pathways where patient compliance prevents progression of diagnosis and will work with both service and patient to ensure attendance of appointments is confirmed. Other delays in the flow of a patient's pathway linking into diagnostic reporting in time for MDT meetings, amongst other potential delay reasons, will form part of this role. The post-holder will reach out to patients who DNA their outpatient and/or diagnostic appointments to document rational and to try prevent further DNA's along the pathway. This will be shared with the services for knowledge and learning. The post-holder will use the most up to date AI technology to help proactively manage the cancer patients pathway.
