Full Job Description
The Patient Flow Manager plays an important role in the coordination of scheduling and bed management. The post holder will have a clinical background and will be required to co-ordinate and guide the implementation of the Hospital's admission and discharge policies in consultation and in collaboration with the care coordination team and senior hospital management. The post holder will have the authority to work directly with consultants, senior nurse management and hospital management and will be accountable for ensuring that the decision making process is effective and that remedial action where necessary is proposed to the senior hospital management. The post holder will advise on the optimal use and cost effective management of inpatient and day care resources for patients in accordance with the hospital business plan or service plan. Knowledge of insurance cover appropriate for admission/procedures in the hospital will be required. The post holder will have oversight of a
dispersed virtual caseload of service users awaiting hospital admission.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Patient Flow Manager to our Bed Management Team. Investment is in place to develop this role to better support the demands for inpatient beds, improve flow, hold oversight of Out of Area Placements and to support our Band 4 bed coordinator.
You will be working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm at The Redwoods Centre in Shropshire , managing the flow of admissions to our Inpatient wards and subcontracted beds .
