Patient Movement Porter

The conveyance or movement of patients by wheelchair, trolley or bed. Movement of deceased patients to the mortuary. Changing of medical gas cylinders as required. Escorting of patients and visitors. Collection and disposal of refuse, including clinical waste generated by the retained estate. To rotate through all portering duties and departments as required to meet Service delivery requirements. Respond to requests within minimum time, enabling the Department to meet its Service Level Agreements with other Trust departments. Respond to crash and fire calls and hold the bleep as requested by Supervisors or team leaders. An experienced post holder may, on occasion be requested to have a supernumerary member of staff working alongside them to assist in their induction to the department.
