Full Job Description
+ This role would be focused on supporting the clinical team in real time tracking/chasing of patient progress through each stage of their pathway to ensure smooth and timely transition.
+ Other administrative support would also be supported for the clinical team within this role, including elements such as introducing standardised coded letters for patients who have been excluded from having cancer and improved data capture of the Somerset Cancer Register.
+ Working as part of a clinical team to ensure that patients are admitted efficiently for Endoscopy appointments, investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures and inpatient and day case operations within national guidelines and in accordance with the Trust's Patients Access, Booking and Choice Policy. This includes:
NHS Constitution, waiting time standards; Department of Health admission guidelines and booking rules.
+ To have overall responsibility for ensuring that patients are scheduled in accordance with principles and target waiting times as set out in the NHS Constitution and Health and Social Care Bill 2011 (e.g. 18 Week Referral to Treatment, Going Further on Cancer Waits etc.),
expediting patient pathways where necessary.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant/s. DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post.
If the post you are applying for requires a DBS - Inline with Trust policy the cost of submitting and processing a DBS for successful applications would be met by the individual themselves. The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
