Full Job Description

The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive administrative, secretarial and service coordinator role to ensure the smooth and efficient operational management and delivery of the service on a daily basis. The post holder will assist the specialty management team to ensure key performance, quality and financial targets are met and the service is developed as per Directorate plans. The post holder will have responsibility for the line management of the administrational and secretarial staff.,

  • Providing a complete clinical administrative service which will include patient correspondence, copy and audio typing, producing, editing and formatting letters, information resources, referral to treatment data entry, monitoring cancer PTL pathways and any other appropriate documents as required.
  • Scheduling meetings and training days, preparing and organising venues, speakers, documents and data. Attending meetings and taking notes/minutes when necessary.
  • Liaising with Nurses, Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for the patients.
  • Working as part of a team sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the department.
  • To be responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of the administrative staff within the department, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Undertaking all necessary and relevant training such as performance management, appraisal and sickness management courses.
