Full Job Description

A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Safety and Improvement Team as a Patient Safety Incident Investigator. This post will work closely with the Patient Safety and Improvement Manager, supporting Business Units in applying PSIRF principles to key areas of focus, in line with our Patient Safety Incident Response Plan.

Leading Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSII's) with a systems based approach in line with the Northumbria PSIRF principles and supporting other lead investigators. Being able to draw on data from a variety of sources, carry out real time observations and create system level improvement recommendations for relevant services, in line with the organisations Patient Safety Incident Response Plan. Supporting our Patient Safety Improvement Facilitators in delivering patient safety improvement projects and delivering training around PSIRF across the organisation.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Leading in innovation and quality - opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. Do you want to work in one of the best performing NHS organisations in England? Work in an organisation that supports its staff and focuses on staff experience as much as it does the experience of its patients? You can live and breathe in an area that has the cleanest air, cost effective living, great nightlife, some of the best schools with a wealth of history available on your doorstep. Sound too good to be true? Well it isn't, this is what you get when you work for Northumbria Healthcare, this is the Northumbria Way! Please read 'applicant guidance notes' before submitting your application.

Sitting in the corporate Business Unit, this post will provide expertise in a Human Factors investigation approach, have oversight of the progress of PSII's and support the continued implementation of all Alternative Learning Responses across the organisation.
