Full Job Description

A patient safety partner (PSP) is actively involved in the design of safer healthcare at all levels in the organisation. Your main role will be to work with us to ensure that we prioritise the safety requirements of our patients thereby maximising the things that go right and minimising the things that go wrong for people receiving our services. You will work with us in the following way:

  • It is important that you participate and join key conversations and meetings within the Trust that address patient safety. You will attend our patient safety meetings and committees.
  • Committee's/meetings may require face to face attendance or may be online, either of which the PSP must be comfortable with this approach
  • You will challenge us and the way that we work so that together be our critical friend Providing a questioning approach to the information shared at the Committee's and meetings
  • Representing the patient's/family voice, to ensure the committee/meeting members are 'walking in the patient's shoes'
  • Co-designing the developments of Patient Safety initiatives.
  • Compliance with relevant policies and maintaining confidentiality, The role will work alongside the Trust's clinical and non-clinical staff, to help inform and influence decisions on services. They will become members of committees, work with project teams, consult on on policy and support learning to contribute a different and independent perspective, enriching and ensuring the best patient experience is achieved. they are involved in a wide range of activities and programmes of work and may take on several different types of roles while in that work. they will contribute to improving governance and leadership within the Trust.
