Full Job Description

The Patient Safety Team Administrator will work as a member of the Patient Safety Team and will assist in facilitating high quality safe care for service users by supporting staff in monitoring incidents and learning from these to continually improve the quality of care provided. The post holder will use a variety of administration skills.
They will support the Risk Management System (Safeguard) in incident management, risk reviews, safety alerts and support the reporting for learning review groups across the Trust. They will also contribute to supporting staff in on-line incident reporting.
The Patient Safety Team Administrator will promote a learning culture throughout the Trust, encouraging incident reporting and learning from incidents.
This post will also assist and provide administration and secretarial support for the management of the patient safety function and agenda., · To provide administrative support to the Patient Safety Team.
· Responsible for updating the Safeguard System and Performance Plus with the outcome of Learning Review Groups and Patient Safety Learning Forums within each of the Care Groups.
· Responsible for the administration of patient safety related training sessions, including (not exclusively) attendees, room booking and sending invitations.
· Receive, log and acknowledge communications in relation to learning response processes.
· Overseeing and managing the investigations / patient safety mailbox and responding to emails where applicable.
· Support the facilitation of Patient Safety Team events including arranging venues and diary invites, etc.
· Assist in providing and prioritising a range of administrative tasks for the Patient Safety Team, e.g. logging incidents, sending incidents to external providers for review.
· To undertake data quality checks and merging within the Trust's incident reporting system Safeguard, and review and approve incidents within the database on a regular basis, including Patient Safety Events reportable to the national Learn from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) service.
· Contribute to delivering the requirements of the Patient Safety function; including meeting the requirements of PSIRF processes in accordance with the Trust PSIRF Policy.
