Full Job Description

We are looking for Verification and Validation engineer able to create and execute Hardware and Software test cases for satellite/payload testing (SDR - Software defined radio). Engineer will work with the HW V&V team, while having direct interaction with Test Development team, so shall be able to ensure correct communication flow and convey information to stakeholders with expertise in both hardware and software domains. Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

  • Understanding of space systems and satellite communication principles, protocols, and technologies, satellite operations and payload engineering.
  • Solid understanding of Software Defined Radio concepts for Payload application.
  • Solid knowledge of embedded software validation methodologies for SoC/FPGA based systems.
  • Expertise in testing and verifying real-time or safety-critical systems for Payload.
  • Knowledge of CCSDS or ECSS standards for Telecommand and Telemetry.
  • Experience in test-cases development and execution for Payload SW testing (satcom payload preferred)
  • Solid understanding of interdisciplinary validation and troubleshooting of complex systems involving hardware, software, and algorithm.
  • Experience in validation of software algorithms and operational systems against user defined requirements.
  • Experience using Automated systems validation/regression testing.
  • Experience creating test cases, using protocol simulators (intermediate knowledge of Java programming is mandatory).
  • Good knowledge of real-time operating systems (free-RtOS, or embedded Linux with real-time extensions), systems programming, concurrency, and scheduling. Knowledge of QEMU nice to have.
  • Experience working using open-source development stack (Eclipse / Github / openjdk), To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
