Full Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Payments Lead to join our Finance team. It's an exciting time within Finance as our transformation, resilience and efficiency plans gather pace. This role will play a pivotal part in the delivery of these plans, working alongside the Banking & Payments Operations Senior Manager.,

  • Manage the daily payment operations, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and within SLA's.
  • Work with all areas of the Society to ensure all aspects of Payments is understood providing guidance where necessary.
  • Promote and assist change to ensure the Society meet all Payment Regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with payment regulations, in particular PSD2, and payment scheme rules, providing attestations and regulatory submissions to the regulator.
  • Play an active role in the Payment Industry, this could include travelling to payment events and meeting with other parts of the industry to ensure we are kept up to date with all changes and regulations on the horizon.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Supplier and BCP Lead in managing the Society's key suppliers that facilitate payment processes.

    An excellent understanding of the Payment Industry regulations: including PSD2 and requirements for payment service providers, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), open banking regulations and knowledge of other UK payment regulations (AML, BCOBS, PSR's), including those set by regulatory bodies such as the FCA and UK payment scheme rules.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the payments industry, including payment systems and processing, particularly knowledge of Faster Payments, Chaps and BACS.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, financial products, and transaction processing in a regulated environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

The team you will be joining, The Banking & Payments Operations Team You'll support the Banking & Payments Operations Senior Manager by supervising operational payment activities within the team of 6, ensuring compliance with Payment Industry regulations and internal procedures. You'll also help to drive efficiencies across the team, seeking out innovations and continuous improvements to ensure a positive customer journey. A key focus of this role will be leading operational resilience requirements for payment processes which underpin the Society's Important Business Services. You'll also deputise for the Banking & Payments Operations Manager in their absence. What's In It For You?
