Full Job Description

To deliver a high quality and accurate Payroll on a monthly basis, ensuring that all calculations and exceptions are managed in accordance with company policy. To provide payroll knowledge to the team and business in order to maximise payroll accuracy and ensure statutory payments are made accurately and on time.,

  • Part of a team ensuring that our 7,000 employees are paid accurately and on time

  • Calculation and processing of statutory and occupational payments for family and sickness leave

  • Calculation of manual payments where appropriate

  • Data entry and correction of errors, including but not limited to starters, leavers and job changes

  • Calculation of interim payments and adjustments to employees' pay

  • Processing documents for external third parties such as court orders, voluntary deductions and HMRC forms

  • Dealing with queries from employees and external organizations where necessary for statutory deductions or queries

  • Liaising with other internal departments to ensure accurate data held in the systems

  • Resolving issues with timecards, Human Resources data or payroll records.

  • Any additional duties deemed reasonable as directed by the Payroll Team Leader or Head of Payroll on an ad hoc basis.

    Minimum of 3 years' experience of working with a high volume in-house payroll

  • Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrate experience of query resolution whilst being tactful, sensitive and confidential

  • Detail oriented and good understanding of Payroll legislation

  • Intermediate Excel & Word skills

  • Accounts reconciliations

  • Knowledge of SAP Globalview Payroll system


  • Essential / Preferred Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English

  • Qualification in Payroll administration or equivalent desirable but not essential
