Full Job Description

You will ensure allocated monthly payrolls are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner according to defined deadlines, adhering to statutory requirements and NHS terms and conditions, requiring extensive knowledge and interpretation of these areas and use of the Trust's computerised payroll system.

You will manage complex calculations and enquiries, and to provide specialist information and advice to staff and managers as required, as well as assisting colleagues within the team with more complex queries.

You will manage yourown workload in an effective and timely manner.

You will maintain accurate employee records in accordance with statutory and Trust requirements.

You will undertake and provide regular training, keeping updated with all new statutory regulations and NHS directives affecting pay.

Preferably, you will have previous experience of working within an NHS payroll team, and using the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system.

In addition, as a Senior Payroll Officer you will manage a team of payroll officers and payroll support officers ensuring an accurate payroll is produced according to defined deadlines, adhering to statutory and NHS terms and conditions, requiring extensive knowledge and interpretation in all these areas along with the Trust's computer system.

Our Payroll team is growing following additional investment, and we are now looking for Payroll Officers to join us! This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated payroll professionals with previous experience, ideally within an NHS setting.

You will be responsible for a section of payroll for day-to-day processing, inputting and calculations associated with providing an excellent payroll service. You will be organised, self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
