Payroll & Overhead Accountant - Fixed Term Contract (12 Months) - Competitive Salary,
- Create weekly payroll csv. Upload files to submit to our external payroll provider.
- Liaise with HR to ensure all new starters, leavers and change to terms are processed in payroll.
- Process court orders and statutory payments i.e. SSP.
- Manage employee queries relating to payroll processes i.e. pensions.
- Post all payroll related journals. Overheads:
- Process POs for central cost overheads on the Medius system.
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the overhead lines including posting accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reporting on key variances and working with cost centre owners to identify areas of opportunity or risk.
- Assist in budget forecasting process for overhead lines.
- Proactive support for cost centre managers and develop a review process to manage overhead budgets.
We are looking for a highly organised Payroll & Overhead Accountant with excellent organisation skills and attention to detail to join the Finance team. They will provide accurate weekly payroll information to our external payroll provider for over 450 employees. As well as looking after cost centres and managing spend vs forecasts and budgets., Proven experience in payroll administration or a similar role. - Experience in Management Accounts is desirable.
- Experience using time & attendance software, HR management systems and pension portals is desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 is desirable) and MS Office.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills to identify challenges, analyse root causes and develop effective solutions.
