Full Job Description
Based in Nottingham, we are looking for an experienced Payroll professional to join our payroll team in this fast-paced role. The most important experience required for this role is payroll processing experience. The successful candidate will have ideally c 2-3yrs previous accountancy/bureau/umbrella or inhouse multiple payroll processing experience and have good all round payroll processing knowledge, able to work autonomously and passionate about providing an exceptional payroll service! In this role you will manage a portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish and support the Payroll Administrators in day-to-day payroll processing and any escalated queries. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and have excellent communication abilities. This role requires liaising with clients, Client Relations Managers from across the organisation, HM Revenue & Customs as well as setting up new payroll clients and providing advanced payroll work, including pension auto enrolment, statutory payments and keeping up to date with ever changing legislation. Duties will include but not limited to:
- Managing own portfolio of payroll clients
- Payroll Processing either 4 weekly or monthly including bank transactions
- Ensuring Auto enrolment compliance and Pension processing with NEST
- Resolution of payroll queries from employees
- Advanced payroll work; SMP, SSP, Attachment Orders, redundancy, TUPE
- End of year processing
- Liaising and support to managers and team members
- Assisting with training and development for payroll administrators
- Dealing with employee enquiries
- Liaising with clients directly via email and telephone, Maintaining files, records and department database
- Dealing with any ad hoc queries
- Tasks on spreadsheets/word documents to complete for analysis tasks helping towards team development
- Organisational tasks to assist the manager and team members
- Providing recommendations to the Manager in relation to client methods & procedures on payrolls This is a superb opportunity for a payroll professional with ideally practice/bureau and/or inhouse payroll processing experience to join a thriving and very friendly firm who truly value their staff and offer a pleasant working environment.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Has experience using Brightpay payroll (desirable)
- Can prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people such as team members, clients and occasionally employees on the payrolls
- Clear and concise - written and verbal communication
- Literate and numerate
- CIPP qualifications (not mandatory but desirable)
- Experience working in a payroll bureau environment (not mandatory but desirable) Personal Skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work on their own and as part of a team providing a positive input to others
- Maintain a professional and helpful manner
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills
- Good communication skills
- Maths and English GCSE A-C (9-5) or equivalent General Administrative Dutie, Payroll: 3 years (required)
