PCN 3 Senior Clinical Pharmacist

We are looking for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join a friendly, dynamic and progressive PCN in the North Barnet working across 7 general practices.

This is a patient facing role in managing long-term conditions; working directly with patients to assess and treat conditions, as well as promote self-care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and run processes for repeat prescription reauthorisation, management of medicines on transfer of care and systems for safer prescribing.

As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing leadership on quality improvement and clinical audit, as well as managing some aspects of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and the Directed Enhanced Service (DES) Contract .

As the Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will have a post-graduate diploma or higher degree in clinical pharmacy, CPPE and will be an independent prescriber. You will need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own, whilst also integrating into a number of well-established General Practices. You will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills together with a good working knowledge of primary care and the challenges facing medicines management in the new NHS.

Experience in General Practice is essential as well as the applicant being clinically up-to-date.

Barnet Federated GPs CIC is a not for profit organisation, putting GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of Primary Healthcare provision in Barnet. The Federation is building a large clinical team who will work as one in developing Primary Care Services in Barnet and will support Primary Care Networks.

The Federation was formed in 2015 and aims to improve the quality of health in Barnet through sustainable primary care. Its current membership consists of all 46 primary care practices within the borough. Although we are a private company, we hold a strong affiliation to the NHS, its constitution and guiding principles.
