Full Job Description

Attenborough & Tudor PCN has an excellent opportunity for a paramedic to join out team and support out network of 4 practices, on a full time basis for 37.5 hours per week.This is a supportive role, working in tandem with our team of paramedics, GPs and other clinical staff to deliver health services.,

  • Assess & triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the practice team.
  • Advise patients on general healthcare & promote self-management where appropriate.
  • Be able to perform specialist health checks and reviews, perform and interpret ECGs, alongside other results as appropriate & perform investigatory procedures as required.
  • Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc.
  • Perform investigatory procedures needed by patients and those requested by GPs and the wider PCN.
  • Support the delivery of anticipatory care and end of life care plans & lead certain community services.
  • Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients & service users, promoting self-care & empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.
  • Prescribe, issue and review medications as appropriate following policy, patient group directives, NICE (national) and local clinical guidelines and local care pathways.

    Attenborough Surgery is a training practice with GP registrars & medical students, as well as in house teaching and a team of salaried GPs, first contact physiotherapist, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber and dietitian as well as an award-winning team of mental health workers.
