Full Job Description

SPS are looking to expand our driver training team with an individual who has a strong bias towards coaching and a learner led learning style. As a Driver trainer, you will be fully responsible for carrying out all aspects of driver training both theory and practical, including but not exclusive to, remedial training, route knowledge, company procedures, vehicle familiarisation and all aspects of professional service delivery. To remain up to date with Road traffic legislation and company procedures and policy. To be a brand ambassador for SPS values. Duties include:

  • To Coach and support colleagues on driving best practice.
  • To ensure delivery service standards are met by carrying out driver quality audits and in service checks.
  • To carry out driving assessments to new candidates and being able to identify learning needs.
  • To be able to train vehicle familiarisation, as well as instruction on the correct use of service performance and Control systems.
  • To deliver classroom modules in areas of driving standards and continued professional development.
  • To assist with the creation of new training documents.
  • Act as an ambassador of SPS values, behaviours and organisation objectives
  • To ensure new drivers reach the required standard as set out by the DVSA to acquire their PCV licence.
  • To complete all aspects of a driver's induction.
  • Deliver behavioural safety training to all colleagues across the business.

    Delivery of CPC training
  • Knowledge of driver's hours and working time directive
  • Advanced Driving Level 2
  • First Aid trained
  • A Qualification in Education and training level 3 (must be prepared to obtain if not held)
  • Essential:
  • Experience of working in a high pressurised Environment
  • Proven ability to work in a team
  • Understanding of driver regulations and compliance
  • PCV licence & Certificate of Professional Competence 3+ years
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Valid UK driving licence
