Full Job Description

The overall purpose of this position is to carry out vehicle maintenance and repairs to company vehicles ensuring that both company and DVSA standards are met efficiently and effectively with emphasis on safety and legal compliance.

1) To undertake planned and unplanned maintenance to company vehicles ensuring any identified defects are recorded, rectified and relevant vehicle records completed and signed off.

2) To perform routine safety inspections in line with company and DVSA standards.

Rectification of daily driver defects ensuring all necessary records are completed.

2) Preparing and presenting company vehicles for annual tests (MOT).

3) Work towards ensuring the company first time MOT pass rate is met and we exceed the minimum DVSA requirements.

4) To have a good working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.

5) To ensure vehicles are presented in a safe and fit for service condition with vehicle safety being an absolute priority.

6) To attend vehicle breakdowns and or accidents as and when necessary.

7) To have an aptitude for problem solving and a keen eye for detail in your work.

8) To undertake road tests of company vehicles as required to ensure vehicles are safe and compliant for service. You must have a valid licence and DCPC (where applicable) for the vehicle you are driving.

9) To be proactive in raising any reoccurring vehicle related issues with your line manager in order that further investigations can be undertaken.

10) To ensure safety is evident in all engineering activities. The safety of yourself, other work colleagues and visitors to the site is a key priority.

11) To promote safe working practices within the workplace and adhering to all health & safety procedures.

12) To ensure PPE is worn at all times.

13) To ensure workshop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition at all times and report any defective equipment to your line manager.

14) To ensure all vehicle movements within the depot conform to the company traffic management plan with particular emphasis on reversing of vehicles.

15) To ensure all depot working areas are clean, tidy and are safe environment to work within.

16) To carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager.
