Our Aftersales Manager at Sheffield Ford is recruiting for a Prep Technician / PDI Technician to join our successful team, working in a fast-paced workshop environment. Whilst working alongside experienced technicians, you will play a vital role in the team, carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles. You will be responsible for inspecting and servicing new vehicles when they are delivered to the PDI Centre in Rotherham, and ensuring minor repairs or adjustments are carried out in a timely manner to ensure the salable condition of the vehicles.   • Inspecting vehicles for any signs of damage or missing components
  • Inspecting vehicles for loose or misaligned items and repairing them to a high standard
  • Fitting number plates
  • Carrying out checks in line with manufacturers guidelines
  • Fitting any additional accessories requested by the customer
  • Vehicle health check and report any further work which may be required
  • Ensuring any Warranty work is completed and recorded accurately
  • Ensuring all mechanical and electrical components are in full working order

    Our technicians play a vital role within our Service team by delivering first class customer service every time. We want you to be part of our success. If you have a level 3 NVQ in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or equivalent), whether you work in a dealer group or independent garage, we want to hear from you! If you also have an MOT Tester qualification this would be extremely advantageous. You will be carrying out PDI checks on many world-renowned Brands, including Ford, BYD, Kia, Nissan, Renault and Mercedes!, The ideal candidate will have a NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), motor industry experience, and a full and valid UK driving licence. You'll be self-motivated whilst being able to support your team, ambitious and eager to learn, and are able to work to and maintain the highest of standards to all vehicles that take a spin through our doors.
