Have you accessed mental health services for an eating disorder? Do you want to support people to have their voice heard and to help improve services? We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with lived experience of receiving care for an eating disorder to join our team as a peer engagement facilitator. As a peer engagement facilitator, you will be a valued member of SupportED West Mids. - the West Midlands Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative. Employed by Midlands Partnership University Foundation Trust but working across a clearly defined geographical area (for example Staffordshire and Shropshire / Coventry and Warwickshire / Herefordshire and Worcestershire / Birmingham and the West Midlands) you will work part time hours (2 x 12 hour per week roles available) with a mix of working from home, community facing and ward-based work. You will collaborate closely with our Professional Lead for Lived Experience Practice, who will offer professional supervision, support, and guidance. As part of an organization that values a diverse workforce, you'll find well established learning and development opportunities for individuals with lived experience., In this role, you'll share relevant personal experiences and utilize insights and skills from your own recovery journey to support individuals using our services on both a one-to-one and group basis. Your responsibilities will include facilitating conversations and providing a link for feedback, engagement and co-production between people who access services, care providers and the SupportED West Mids. Commissioning hub. It is anticipated this will be a dynamic role with lots of variation and will include tasks such as;

  • Facilitate and co-facilitate workshops to support co-production.
  • Co-facilitate training sessions.
  • Support individuals to engage with co-production opportunities.
  • Collect patient experience feedback from those accessing adult eating disorder services.
  • Attend in-person events to promote our lived experience network and available opportunities.
  • Create communication and marketing materials.
