Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment process, As a Peer Support Development Worker, you'll be an ambassador of lived & living experience for the Health Board. Working to improve understanding of peer support whilst supporting the employment and ongoing development of Peer Support Worker roles across the Health Board. You'll play an integral role in offering all peer support workers and employing teams support, supervision, consultation, and training.
The post holder will be required to provide planned and ad-hoc support to peers and teams which may be communicated at short notice. Planning and organising a wide range of complex and potentially conflicting activities in own workload, including liaison across departments and third sector services for activities such as meetings, training delivery, and peer supervision.
The role requires communicating effectively with service users, carers, family members, and professionals across a variety health care settings (including conferences and representing the health board at national service user forums).

+ Be an ambassador for recovery/maintaining wellbeing for the Health Board to teams internally & external agencies.
+ Improve understanding of peer support across ABUHB, working with key stakeholders in these services to identify potential challenges and benefits of peer support.
+ Adapt peer support training resources for specialist groups (children, older adults experiencing mental health difficulties and individuals with learning disabilities).
+ Co-deliver training alongside third sector partners to prospective peer workers.
+ Support the ongoing development of a variety of peer support roles across the Health Board, taking into account the particular needs of the service in which they are working.
+ Develop training and supervision/support packages for Peer Support Workers and other team members.
+ Deliver team preparation training to clinical teams to ensure that Peer Support Workers are used effectively and appropriately within their service, embedding recovery principles within the service setting.
+ Support the development and implementation of the Health Boards Peer Support Strategy.
+ Provide support and development opportunities for Peer Support Workers via a Peer Development programme and group supervision opportunities.
+ Develop a communication strategy in order to keep in contact with all Peer Support Workers within their specialist areas.
+ Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-advocacy and hopefulness., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
