Pensions Associate Consultant and Relationship Manager (Defined Benefit) UK / I Wide
Mercer is looking for a talented and ambitious team member with experience in Pension consulting and scheme management. Providing consulting advice (as lead consultant and relationship manager) to both trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers
Responsible for the day-to-day management of clients, ensuring that client needs and objectives are understood and appropriate services delivered to meet these and to support senior colleagues on more complex and challenging opportunities
Providing services on a commercial basis and to help in increasing revenue and profitability

We will count on you to :
Provide consulting services to trustee clients. Depending on the client you will either be leading the relationship or supporting senior colleagues
Ensure all governance requirements are complied with, in particular the requirements of the General Code
Take responsibility for the commercial and strategic relationship and management of clients within a portfolio
Take a central role in liaising with clients, other team members and other advisers
Where you are leading the relationship, you will be central to the delivery of all Mercer services to the client
Attend trustee meetings, overseeing meeting pack preparation, production of minutes and monitoring actions
Set, agreeing and monitoring budgets
Support the development of more junior colleagues
Experience in defined benefit pensions consulting and scheme management
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients
Excellent planning, organisation and project management skills

Excellent technical pensions knowledge and knowledge of current regulatory regime
Excellent understanding of current pension issues and how these impact clients
