Full Job Description

Working with the Lead Business Partner this role provides support and HR advice to the assigned NGED business area(s), on a wide range of employee related issues and activities.

It involves the interpretation and application of wider HR policy and processes to suit specific business and organisation requirements.
The successful candidate will have an eye for detail as they will lead on data and insights for the relevant business areas to enable decision making, value add conversations, evidence based challenge and HR / legal compliance.

What you'll do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing support and guidance on HR-related matters, while ensuring effective signposting to relevant resources.

  • Collaborate with the NGED People team, Group People Function, and business stakeholders to support the delivery of key HR processes and activities in the assigned business area.

  • Analyze data and prepare meaningful dashboards to provide insights for informed business decisions.

  • Contribute to key projects aligned with people and business priorities, such as DEI and Talent Management.

  • Identify opportunities by analyzing key themes, trends, and metrics to assess potential impacts on the business and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Support Trade Union forums and meetings on behalf of the NGED Business Unit.

  • Provide informal ER support and advice to leaders, ensuring effective and sensitive handling of colleague matters in line with policies and values.

  • Coach leaders on legal compliance matters, such as flexible working requests and parental provisions, to ensure effective management aligned with company culture.

  • Support leaders in managing Occupational Health referrals and absence management, providing advice and appropriate signposting.

  • Offer guidance to leaders on NGED HR Policies.

    Previous experience of working in a business partner/centre of excellence model

  • Customer focus and stakeholder management - using influencing and communication skills to build relationships.

  • The ability to self-start and adapt to different business needs, with the mindset of continuous improvement.

  • Discipline and attention to detail in managing data, policies and processes.

  • Confident with large volumes of data and manipulating data to drive insights.

  • Comfortable working in highly confidential environments.

  • Competent in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.

  • High level knowledge and experience across the full spectrum of HR activities including recruitment, ER etc.

  • Experience of providing leaders with support and advice, tailored to the needs of the business but in line with NGED/NG policies, T&Cs etc.

  • Experience of managing projects from initiation to implementation and review.

    A competitive salary between £40,000 - £45,000- dependent on capability
