Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of HR People Development assistant within the People Development team., You will closely monitor the People Development mailboxes, risk assessing incoming emails and responding or escalating as appropriate. You will assist with the planning and running of promotion assessment centers and the National Police Promotion Framework (NPPF) pathway ensuring excellent customer service is provided. The postholder will assist with a range of admin tasks, including but not limited to, updating relevant trackers, spreadsheets and other management information, ensuring the creation of high quality, accurate documents, arrange meetings and manage bookings. You will be the first point of contact for the HR People Development team ensuring all calls and visitors are dealt with efficiently and courteously. As a collaborative department, although you will be based at Chelmsford HQ, this role can require travel to and from Kent, so access to a vehicle is desirable., Where appropriate we will make adjustments to the selection process, working arrangements and/or the working environment provided it is reasonable in all the circumstances to do so.     You will need to be educated to a minimum standard of GCSE or equivalent and be fully conversant with Microsoft products. This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate an accurate, conscientious and methodical approach. The individual must be organised and take personal responsibility for their own work.,
  • Strong communication skills via face to face, email and teams.
  • Dynamic in organization to manage risk and priorities.
  • Ability to manage volume administrative tasks adhering to GDPR and confidentiality.
  • Personal responsibility for own work, personal drive and motivation.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft products.
  • It would also be helpful if you could evidence:
  • Customer service skills
  • HR and/or L&D experience
  • Knowledge and experience on interview selection techniques and planning.
  • Knowledge of policing, policing systems, procedures and policies and the policing environment.
