Full Job Description

In this vital role, you will report to the Head of People Partnering for Support Centres and will serve as a strategic business partner to a number of Senior Leaders for a designated business area., As a People Partner, you will play a crucial role in delivering the company's objectives through the engagement and delivery of the People Plan, with a focus on continually raising standards and enhancing the colleague experience. Supporting a culture that ensures 'Everyone is welcome at Booker' and that we truly are 'A place to get on'.

  • Working as business partner to your customer group providing a timely, efficient, accurate and comprehensive People service
  • Advising customer group on People policies, procedures and employee relations ensuring compliance to employment legislation.
  • Supporting the creation of a culture which recognises the right behaviours and makes Booker 'A Place to Get On'.
  • Supporting change management programmes and organisational design
  • Supporting customer group in recruiting and onboarding talent.
  • Facilitating the reward cycle, and advising on Pay Principles, challenging where appropriate.
  • Networking with the wider People teams, support or lead national People projects and initiatives, feedback to allow fit for purpose interventions to be created.
  • Championing self-development and keeping up to date with business initiatives as well as with changes in employment law.
  • Ensuring the DE&I ethos is delivered through effective guidance and practice.
  • Questioning and challenging others to identify people opportunities and support colleague experience
  • Developing and implementing a customer People plan to support delivery of the business strategy
  • Supporting customer area with talent and succession planning, creating and maintaining a talent pipeline working cross functionally where appropriate to create opportunities
  • Mentor, support and develop colleagues in customer group and wider People team
