We are looking to offer a People Services Team Leader the opportunity to join our expanding People Services team based in Stevenage. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. About the team This role forms part of the energetic People Services team, one part of the wider People team, in an ever-growing business. The team is made up of 23 which includes a team of Payroll specialists and Transactional coordinators, who work alongside this role in providing services to around 11,000 colleagues. There is lots of change and plenty of things to fix with a real opportunity to make an impact. About the role As the People Services Team Leader you will lead and manage the People Services team in delivering exceptional HR operational services, while fostering a positive work environment and promoting the company's values and vision. In this role, you will work 36 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, working compressed hours over 4 days - other working hours can be agreed, so don't be afraid to ask in your interview about the flexibility we can offer. As the People Services Team Leader, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Support the People Services Manager in leading the People Services function to ensure delivery of a progressive, efficient, and consistent employee experience within all aspects of operations support provided by the department
  • Provide leadership, coaching, feedback, and recognition to team members within the people services team and lead engagement, to ensure all action planning and team objectives support the overall group HR strategy and business objectives
  • Hold regular 1 to 1 meetings with direct reports alongside delivering monthly and yearly appraisals
  • Be accountable for the day-to-day performance of the People Services team, ensuring clear SLA's and KPI's align to effective and positive employee experience on all services provided
  • Collaborate with all areas of People Services, supporting the HRBP and HRM teams to ensure new or changed HR products, services, processes, or policies are communicated, planned, and implemented effectively across the Operating Business
  • Promote a high-performance culture, with a focus on team collaboration, simplicity, ongoing improvement, and creating an excellent employee experience

    Extensive experience and a thorough understanding of operational excellence within HR environment including process
  • Demonstrable experience working as HR Leader within HR Operations/HR Shared Services, with proven capability to lead, develop and motivate a team and create a best in class HR shared services department
  • You will possess proven leadership capability of implementing or upgrading an integrated HR system
  • Strong customers focus mind-set, passionate about employee experience and driving continuous improvement for all processes.
