Full Job Description

The People and Volunteering Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating volunteer activities, leading on recruitment, and overseeing project management initiatives within Step Up. This role requires a highly organised and enthusiastic individual who can effectively manage volunteer programmes, support HR initiatives, and coordinate various projects.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead on recruitment, onboarding, and database management for both volunteers and staff.

  • Support the development and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract and retain volunteers.

  • Coordinate and schedule volunteer activities, ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience for all participants.

  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer holidays.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of volunteer training programmes.

  • Collaborate with various departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.

  • Support HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and volunteer engagement activities.

  • Assist in the administration of HR policies and procedures.

  • Prepare regular reports on volunteer and HR activities for management.

  • Coordinate and manage projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

  • Develop project plans, monitor progress, and provide updates to senior management.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues., As the People and Volunteering Coordinator, your input will drive the performance and reach of Step Up and the the networks it supports. You will be responsible for leading on recruitment, and overseeing project management initiatives within Step Up.

    Office and Administration Management

  • Project / programme management

  • Volunteer management, Proven experience in volunteer coordination, HR, or a similar role.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Experience in project management and coordination.
