Performance & Compliance Manager - Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre

  • Monday - Friday

  • £35,225.69 per annum

  • 40hrs

  • Heathrow immigration Removal Centre is the largest establishment of its kind in Europe. Managed on behalf of the Home Office by Mitie Care and Custody it represents a unique, diverse and challenging environment for an experienced performance and compliance professional.

    The newly created role of Performance & Compliance Manager will report to the Performance & Compliance Service Delivery Manager and will have first line management responsibility for a small team of operational performance officers, compliance officers, assurance officers and auditors. As part of a newly developed team they will have the ability to shape the strategy while working collaboratively with the leadership team and stakeholders to;
  • To monitor compliance against contractual and legislative standards across the operation.

  • To investigate non-compliance and performance issues with a view to determine root cause and/or mitigate reoccurrence.

  • Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise performance, compliance, and to promote best practise.

    We want to hear from you if you are an experienced audit, performance or compliance professional with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and a degree of general IT literacy. You should be comfortable working with and deciphering service delivery contracts and relevant legislation


  • It would be desirable if you have line management experience, any level of proficiency with Power BI and/or experience of working in a secure, highly regulated or custodial environment, although these elements should not preclude you from applying.

    You must also be eligible for CTC clearance and meet the following criteria;
  • Be a UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.

  • Have a valid and in date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. Please note Visa's in out of date passports cannot be accepted as proof of Right to Work in the UK. A Biometric card alongside a current in- date passport must be provided.

  • Have continuously resided in the UK for the previous 5 years. Applicants must not have spent more than 3 months at any one time overseas during the previous 5 years.

  • This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and Applicants must be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, complete employer referencing for the previous 5 years and vetting to the level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC) if offered a role.
