Full Job Description

  • New opportunity due to on-going investment into data literacy and commitment to creating a data orientated culture within head office underwriting and pricing
  • Be involved in turning complex datasets into actionable insights that shape the future of underwriting and pricing strategies, enabling the business to meet strategic objectives
  • This is a hybrid role with up to 80% homeworking and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon
  • About the role As a Performance Data Consultant, you'll design and deliver standardised datasets that empower our Underwriting & Pricing teams to make informed, data-driven decisions in addition to engaging and supporting wider stakeholders around the business. Working with complex data from multiple sources, you'll ensure it's structured and reusable to solve business challenges, driving valuable insights into performance. Working with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements, you'll align data initiatives with business needs which support our underwriting strategy. You'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our Data Management and Governance Framework, providing recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation. Your key responsibilities include structuring complex datasets to meet business needs and delivering standardised and reliable data solutions. You'll work closely with stakeholders to provide meaningful, data-driven insights into underwriting performance through MI analysis. You'll be helping to drive strategic data transformation within the Underwriting & Pricing department and the wider business You'll also ensure that all data and code follow governance and architectural principles. As a peer reviewer, you'll help maintain data quality, coach others on effective data use, and support the evaluation of external data within our External Data Strategy Framework.

    You're a detail-oriented data professional with hands-on experience in query writing (SQL/SAS), data analysis, and delivering insights that lead to actionable outcomes. Your financial acumen and experience in Financial Analysis, particularly with Profit & Loss (P&L), coupled with your excellent communication and presentation skills, enable you to provide clear, technical explanations to a non-technical audience. Additionally, you bring experience in strategic data transformation, with insurance or regulated sector experience being highly desirable. You demonstrate:
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to influence others using data-driven insights
  • Experience with data visualisation with PowerBI knowledge being desirable
  • Expertise in managing your own workload to deliver a high-quality service
