This role will be responsible for the effective management of the newly commissioned Children and Young People's Gender Service (South West) and other paediatric medical specialties within the Division of Women's and Children's Services. The post-holder, along with the General Manager for Children's Medical Specialties, will work closely with the Clinical Chair, Divisional Director/Deputy Directors, Clinical Directors, Heads of Nursing, Senior Nurse/Matrons, and Lead Clinicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services and the achievement of strategic and operational objectives, service improvement and performance targets.
The post-holder will manage a variety of clinical and administrative staff within the CYP Gender Service and hold the delegated budget for some services. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the portfolio of services, the post-holder will plan and co-ordinate resources to ensure achievement of service targets in line with the Trust Objectives.
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering delegated improvements within services to meet patient expectations, as well as ensure the required capacity to meet key clinical performance targets. Operational management is also an important part of the role in this group of clinical and supporting specialties., + Responsible for the day-to-day efficient and effective operational management of service areas, linking appropriately with clinical and multi-disciplinary staff in all matters affecting the delivery of core services.
+ Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure clinic capacity relating to their services is fully and flexibly utilised to treat patients and to ensure both clinical requirements and Trust service objectives are achieved.
+ Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to monitor and track performance within services.
+ Ensure facilities and other resources are available to meet service needs, including analysing and managing space requirements.
+ Develop and write policies and standardised procedures within own work area and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to as required by the Trust.
+ Contribute to the development of strategic and service planning by preparing achievable plans aligned with service and Trust strategy.
+ Manage the analysis of data so the management team has access to timely and accurate information on all key performance indicators.
+ Undertake and oversee work to improve performance and service delivery, working with trust performance teams as required, using all available tools and methodology.
+ Liaise with other departments and members of the Trust to support the smooth running and functioning of the department/service., the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
