Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group's people strategy in line with business objectives. We facilitate talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation and management of executive compensation plans and policies, ensuring the Group's remuneration framework is effectively governed and aligned with all regulatory requirements. The role holder will functionally report to the Head of Executive Reward and work directly with a UK based and offshore team alongside other members of the Group Compensation and the wider Group Performance & Reward teams,

  • Support HSBC's risk and reward alignment framework including providing specialist advice teams to teams on reward impact for risk matters

  • Support the design, implementation and maintenance of performance and pay frameworks for senior management including General Managers

  • Manage ESG disclosures at a Group level including the annual disclosure of pay gaps

  • Support preparation and review of Remuneration Committee papers on related matters

  • Ensure global compliance with PRA/FCA remuneration regulations on related matters, managing regulatory filings and advising teams on the impact of regulations on compensation policy.

  • Manage and coordinate effectively to ensure the successful implementation of any change initiatives, within executive compensation e.g., new vendors, systems, policy or processes.

  • Maintain expert specialist knowledge by keeping abreast of published materials, competitor practice, external market developments and trends and legislative and regulatory developments

  • Provide developmental activity for more junior team members, knowledge and skills sharing

    Deep technical skills on executive remuneration and financial services regulatory issues, including relevant legislation in this field (e.g., UK remuneration reporting regulations, PRA/FCA Remuneration Code)

  • Experience of working in a large matrixed organisation, ideally international

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Business acumen with ability to apply critical analysis and judgment when reviewing activities.

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a succinct and credible manner, both orally and written, directly with Senior Management

  • Ability to influence within HR and fellow peers in Finance, Risk, Company Secretary etc.

  • Ability to ensure that deadlines are appropriately planned for and met, particularly in a pressurised and deadline driven environment

  • Strong Excel and analytical skills with an excellent attention to detail

  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the broader team and work as an effective team member
