Full Job Description

The Premier League's Football Department is recruiting for new and exciting roles within the Elite Performance team. The Premier League Elite Performance team have responsibilities across Player Health, Performance Support and Pathway Management, providing governance, insights and support to aid the development of a world-leading performance ecosystem across First Teams and Academies. Performance Support continues to be a priority for the Premier League. As such, we are recruiting four Performance Support Assistants to play a key role in leading the implementation of the Premier League Academy Benchmark Fitness Testing Project. The role will focus across all Premier League and Category One Academies, ensuring consistent and standardised testing procedures are maintained, and accurately record testing results in the Football Intelligence Platform. Additionally, you'll contribute to performance support delivery at Premier League Development Camps and support initiatives focused on growth and maturation, and nutrition. The successful candidates will be enrolled upon a Professional Development programme, focussed on both technical and professional skill development. The ideal candidates will possess technical experience in Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning, coupled with a broader understanding of related Elite Performance disciplines. A key outcome of this programme is to support and promote diversity within the Performance Support workforce across football, therefore, the Premier League is welcoming applications from a wide range of under-represented groups.   • Oversee the implementation of the Premier League Academy Benchmark Fitness Testing Project, ensuring consistency and standardisation across all Academies
  • Work in partnership with the Premier League's Education and Player Care, and Coaching teams
  • to integrate physical conditioning principles into Development Camp football programs
  • Design and deliver physical conditioning programs at Development Camps, focusing on ageappropriate training, load management, and injury prevention
  • Contribute to the development and utilisation of the Football Intelligence Platform
  • Manage relationships and communicate effectively with a variety of Stakeholders
  • Assist the Elite Performance Team with various tasks, stay updated on sports science advancements, and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Engage and commit to a program of technical and professional skill development
  • Support the development and delivery of Academy Player and Stakeholder education
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as reasonably required by the Premier League

    Postgraduate qualification in related subject i.e. Sport Science
  • Experience of working with athletes and coaches within an elite performance setting
  • Past experience working within an elite youth development setting
  • Experience of working with children and adults at risk and/or knowledge and understanding of issues that affect their safety and wellbeing
  • Relevant industry specific accreditation (or working towards)
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • High personal integrity and professional conduct
  • Good communication, written and organisational skills
