Full Job Description
Since its founding in 2010, Lightsource bp has grown rapidly to become a global market leader in the development, acquisition, and long-term management & operation of solar energy projects. In addition to being a multi-GW developer of utility-scale plants, Lightsource bp has invested heavily in its Asset Services division, that is, the internal capabilities required to manage, operate, and optimise the return of a solar site over its lifespan. Long one of the largest Owners and Operators of solar in the UK, LSbp's Asset Services business is currently scaling up rapidly. Today we manage hundreds of MW of assets in each of the United States, Spain, and Australia, in addition to our UK home market, with more new markets soon to follow. Global Performance & Monitoring The LSbp Global Performance & Monitoring team sits within the Asset Services business, acting as the nerve centre through which all asset data flows on a daily basis. The insights generated by the team are disseminated across Lightsource, providing the foundation for data-based decision-making. From a simple decision to dispatch an engineer to site to investigate a fault to deciding to proceed with a multimillion-euro site retrofit, the process starts with the Global Performance & Monitoring team. We measure our success by the performance of our international fleet of assets, expected to exceed 2.4 GW by year-end, as well as by the service we provide to our O&M and Asset Management colleagues, in the form of data feeds, reporting, insight generation, and recommendations. Investment in digital tools & infrastructure In late 2020, LSbp Asset Services launched a multimillion-pound digitalisation investment programme, seeking to create a step-change in the digital tools our team has at its disposal. Building on the success of a new Data Lake, commissioned in Q3 2021, which brought in-house all of our data in an organised and accessible manner, we are now approaching the implementation of two major software programmes: (a) System of Insight (SoI) and (b) Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). The System of Insight is a data and analytics tool that will take all of the raw data coming in from our sites around the world and will help us efficiently calculate KPIs, perform advanced analytical deep-dives, produce reports, and display important insights to the organisation. We are partnering with an industry-leading software as a service provider to implement this platform. Implementation will commence in Q4 2021. The Global Performance & Monitoring team is seeking to expand adding a Performance Systems Analyst to support the implementation, testing, quality assurance of these new tools, as well as act as a champion to train others in the organisation on their use. The successful candidate may be based in Bath, London, or Madrid joining an existing team of thirteen colleagues spread across these geographies. Role summary The role reports directly to the Head of Global Performance & Monitoring and will have exposure to colleagues across Asset Services, the LSbp Data & Analytics team, and our third-party partner companies. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the introduction of a game-changing software tool that will shape how the company operates for years to come. The candidate can expect to become expert in its use through the implementation phase and act as a champion across Lightsource once implemented, ensuring others are getting full value out of the tool. In the near-term, the Performance Systems Analyst is expected to be focused on supporting the implementation of the System of Insight. A risk to this project is the "garbage-in, garbage-out" phenomenon, so the Analyst will be primarily concerned with ensuring the right inputs are being provided into the System of Insight and sense-checking the outputs to ensure results can be trusted. Over the medium-term, the role is expected to evolve as implementation concludes and there will be an opportunity to support further new systems, such as the Enterprise Asset Management System.,
