Full Job Description

The Performance Systems Integration (PSI) team are responsible for end-to-end definition of the performance system:

  • Requirements - System architecture, calibration requirements and control system definition

  • Detailed technical trade-offs and control system development, through use of simulation and analytical tools

  • Demonstrate product quality, emissions conformance, and product signoff


  • PSI lead the engine performance development cycle; from new technology concept selection, through to development and validation of new products and then supporting and maintaining our current products. PSI also play a key role in integrating our products into customer applications.

    What You Will Do

    The Performance Systems Integration Senior Validation Engineer role will be focused on leading the performance validation of one of our current engine platforms, and the successful candidate will work alongside other highly talented Engineers, utilising their project leadership, problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to make data driven decisions to deliver the validation and sign-off of production software for all relevant product updates, ensuring product quality and emissions compliance.

    The successful application will work as part of a cross functional team, collaborating with partners in Systems, Component, Performance and Electronics, to deliver world class products.

  • Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

  • Coaches junior Engineers & team members in this analytical approach

  • Ability to communicate clearly with a cross functional team and process partners avoiding technical jargon, to drive strong collaboration.

  • Deliver spoken presentations and writes reports needed to communicate and document validation risk and sign-off.

  • Able to communicate work requirements and to coach junior team members, to deliver through others effectively.


  • Technical Excellence

    Level - Extensive Experience:
  • Experience of some or all of the following:

  • Engine and / or Aftertreatment performance development.

  • Engine / powertrain Control Systems.

  • Validation and verification methodologies and tools.

  • Data analysis software e.g. CANape / Diadem.

  • Problem solving methodologies and tools.

  • Off-Highway regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of control system development and validation through data analysis and simulation.

  • Applies current procedures and technologies to help resolve technical issues in one's general area of technical competence, with a proven record of continuously improving and innovating.

  • Effectively performs the technical job aspects, while keeping up-to-date on technical and process best practice, while coaching others.


  • Process Excellence

    Level - Working Knowledge:
  • Experience of process ownership and development to continuously maintain and improve current processes using lean techniques.

  • Uses project leadership skills to lead large process improvement projects to reduce validation risk and improve product robustness.

  • Applies process diligence and project leadership skills to deliver the performance validation sign-off for one of our engine platforms.
