Full Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Hull Royal Infirmary operating Department.
You will assist the registered Theatre/Perioperative Team in the delivery of direct patient care, in either anaesthetics, surgery or PACU.
You will be required to support and work alongside the Theatre Recovery team and also provide support to the Theatre Reception.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated support workers.
The role will involve supporting with the care of both adults and children during anaesthetic and surgical patient care. (EG: cleaning, stocking shelves, collecting equipment, preparing and checking equipment and operating tables, direct patient care, after in-house training applying patient monitoring, general theatre circulating duties, checking swabs and instruments, learning the names of instruments in order to reconstruct the instrument sets prior to being sterilised at the end of the case, collecting / returning patients to & from the wards, and much more as you become more experienced ........
You will be expected to work in the Theatre reception.
You will be expected to assist the Theatre procurement team placing on line orders and putting away deliveries, helping with stock takes and stock rotation.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
As well as supporting the Main Theatre and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), the post holder may also be required to work in the Gynae/Obstetric Theatres.
The HRI Main Theatre Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, so a flexible attitude to all shift patterns is essential to meet the ever changing needs of the service.
We are a multi-disciplinary department. This consists of Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), Nurses, Radiographers, Surgeons, Anaethetsists and Peri-Operative Support Workers.
We have 9 Theatres in the HRI main tower block, and 2 Neurosurgical Theatres and in each theatre we have a team of staff working together to care for the patients. We also operate in the Interventional Radiology Department, Day Surgery, and the Family & Womens Hospital.
