Peripatetic Piano Teacher

Chelsea Academy is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of the piano who is able to inspire and develop piano from beginner to advanced level. The Academy is a happy and successful school, with a rich tradition of valuing music. Until this academic year, we admitted 10% of students into Year 7 based on their musical aptitude.

The successful candidate will be skilled and confident in teaching students from Year 7 to Year 13 and be interested in developing the role of the piano within the wider Music curriculum area. This will include accompanying students for their GCSE performances as part of this role.

The post holder will be engaged on a self-employed basis and be expected to be available for 6 hours per week, term time only. The actual specific day(s) of the week to be worked will be agreed with the successful candidate.

Academy Overview

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2023, saw us being judged strongly good in all areas. Our current SIAMS grading is outstanding. Both inspections evidence our excellent quality of education and commitment to ensure all students flourish both academically and pastorally. Recent outcomes at GCSE and A Level demonstrate strong progress for all students with the Academy's GCSE results this summer being the highest the Academy has ever achieved. However, we are much more than a successful, academically focused school. We believe in educating the whole child and our Christian values of joy, perseverance, servant leadership, charity and forgiveness underpin everything we stand for. The Academy's specialism is the sciences, and as such we have strong links with local organisations such as Imperial College, The Science Museum and Chelsea Physic Garden.
