Full Job Description
In this key position, you will be the rock for both the children and your teams across multiple residential settings. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact.
As a Senior Peripetetic Residential Childcare Worker, you will lead by example, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, at times in crisis. This role requires strong leadership skills, resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to supporting young people through their most challenging times. You will also act as a role model for other staff, demonstrating best practices in care and therapeutic approaches.
Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of Peripatetic Residential Childcare Workers, creating an environment of learning, respect, and compassion.
Adaptability: You will work across various homes, adapting to different teams and environments, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality of care and a sense of belonging. You will be led by a Peripatetic Team Manager and respond to sickness, absence and periods of crisis within homes.
Direct Care: Provide hands-on care and support to children, helping to create a stable and nurturing environment.
Innovation: Bring fresh ideas to address challenges and enhance the life experiences of the children in our care.
We're seeking a unique individual who brings experience and passion to the role. We need someone with proven experience in residential childcare. Your passion for making a positive impact on young lives should shine!
You must have previous and relevant experience of working with young people and families or have worked in a residential setting and have extensive experience of working with young people experiencing crisis. A strong background in therapeutic parenting, behaviour support and de-escalation techniques is also essential. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential (or willingness to work towards this).
We need someone who has an exceptional ability to lead by example, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams. You will have the ability to adapt to changing environments and overcome challenges with a positive attitude.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50.
